Roberta MacGlashan was elected to 4th District of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors in 2004. Prior to serving on the Board, she served as a City Council Member and Mayor in Citrus Heights.
She earned a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning, and has served as a Planner and Executive for both City and County government – later becoming a consultant and owning her own business.
As County Supervisor, Roberta has led efforts to make the County more fiscally responsible, fight crime, empower local communities and friendlier towards job creators.
Good fiscal planning and responsible budgeting is a top priority for Roberta – because she knows taxpayers shouldn’t bear the burden of government overspending. As a Councilwoman, she helped build strong reserves in the city budget while holding the line against higher property and sales taxes. She’s continued that fight on the Board of Supervisors – leading efforts to restrain spending and oppose tax hikes.
Roberta knows that safeguarding the public is government’s most vital functions, so she’s pushed to increase Sheriff’s patrols and pushed for more prosecutors in the budget. She led the fights to crack down on adult book stores and oppose giving needles to drug addicts.
Roberts has also worked to restore the public’s trust in government, by working to open up meetings and by conducting monthly “town hall” meetings in each area of her district.
Roberta has earned the endorsements of Sheriff John McGinness, DA Jan Scully and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association – along with hundreds of local community leaders and citizens.
She’s currently running for re-election.
Roberta has earned a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. She and her husband, Craig, have been married for over 30 years and reside in Gold River.
