Protecting children and families
- Voted to ban registered sex offenders from being within 300 feet of locations frequented by children, including parks, schools, libraries, and daycare centers.
- Stopped proposal to use taxpayer money to give free needles to drug users.
- Pushed for new rules to stop stores from selling “sex novelties” within 1000 feet of schools, churches, libraries and daycare centers.
- Increased funding to the Sheriff’s Department and Park Rangers.
- Led county efforts to stop relocation of California’s Death Row to Folsom Prison.
Holding government accountable
- Holds monthly community meetings in each community in the Fourth District to establish priorities for the communities.
- Created Fair Oaks Planning Council giving new planning authority to Fair Oaks residents.
- Led efforts to improve relationships between the County and Orangevale businesses.
- Improved communication and cooperation between the County and the Gold River Community Association.
- Supported Antelope CPAC to ensure multi-family rezones in Antelope reflected the best interests of the community, rather than downtown planners.
- Led efforts to keep the county from spending time debating foreign affairs — instead pushing to keep focus on issues in the County.
Preserving our neighborhoods & way of life
- Secured funding for a Service Center to serve residents of Fair Oaks and Orangevale.
- Secured the last $35,000 needed to acquire & preserve the Fair Oaks Bluff as part of the American River Parkway.
- Increased funding for American River Parkway and pushed to bring all ARP interests together for a unified effort.
- Supported Neighborhood Preservation Area to preserve the unique community atmosphere in Fair Oaks Village.
- Supported efforts to build a new Folsom Dam Bridge to alleviate traffic congestion.
- Supported a public-private partnership to reduce congestion on Highway 50, and pushed for Federal support to relieve secure additional support.
- Approved the widening of Hazel Avenue, to reduce congestion and improve access to the American River Parkway
- Supported alternative transportation, including new bike lanes, bike parking facilities, pedestrian facilities, Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail extensions, and horse-friendly facilities.
- Secured funding to beautify the ditch in front of Orchard Supply Hardware and Winco the commercial gateway to Antelope.
